Didn’t we deserve some measure of life?
You’re lying now but you’re probably right
Wrapping bone around metal
It’s getting toward night
Wrapped up in the embryos
Yeah, we’re through
I’m moving
I’m trying to feel
I’ll fail again -- that’s nothing new
You shot me down -- don’t think that’s due
Sharp edges around me
But that’s not you
Wrapped up in the embryos
Yeah, we’re through
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
L.A. doomgazers Iress call up a storm on their latest; silky vocals become screams, and golden guitar atmospherics turn heavy and dark. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 11, 2020
Drifting dreampop and snarling grunge, with potent vocals wrapped in gauzy textures one minute, surrounded by jagged riffs the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 21, 2023
